TillerBuddy Wearable Remote & NFC Manual
Model: 2026 Rugged Marine Edition
The TillerBuddy Wearable is your all-in-one command center. Designed for the marine environment, it provides instant access to your boat’s horn, lighting beams, and secure storage via integrated NFC technology.
1. Button Layout & Navigation
The wearable features four tactile buttons. For your TillerBuddy system, they are pre-configured as follows:
TOP LEFT: Panic Mode (Continuous Horn Blast + Red Beams)
TOP RIGHT: TillerBuddy Beam A (Flood Light Control)
BOTTOM LEFT: Navigation Horn (Discrete Blast)
BOTTOM RIGHT: TillerBuddy Beam B (Flood Light Control)
2. Digital Clock Calibration (Time Setting)
To prevent accidental changes to the clock while operating your boat’s hardware, the digital display features a Dual-Button Security Lock.
To adjust the time/date:
Unlock Menu: Press and hold both BOTTOM LEFT and BOTTOM RIGHT buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The digits on the display will begin to flash.
Cycle Fields: Tap the BOTTOM RIGHT button to cycle through the settings (Hours → Minutes → Month → Date).
Adjust Values: Tap the TOP RIGHT button to advance the digits upward.
Save & Exit: Once the correct time is set, leave the device untouched for 10 seconds. The display will stop flashing and lock your settings into memory.
3. Integrated NFC Security (Padlock Access)
The face of your watch contains a hidden NFC Digital Key pre-programmed to work with your TillerBuddy Touch-Pad Padlock.
How to Unlock:
Wake the Padlock: Press any key on the padlock face or pull the shackle to wake the sensor.
Scan: Hold the face of the watch directly against the center of the padlock’s keypad.
Access: The padlock will beep and the LED will turn green. You can now pull the shackle.
4. Adding a New Padlock (NFC Pairing)
If you purchase an additional TillerBuddy Padlock for a locker or hatch, follow these steps to "Pair" your wearable:
Enter your Admin Password on the new padlock keypad (followed by the # or Unlock key).
Enter the padlock's "Add Card/Tag" command (Refer to your specific padlock manual).
When the padlock LED flashes for "Pairing," hold the face of your wearable against the keypad.
The padlock will beep to confirm your wearable is now an authorized key.
5. Maintenance & Support
Battery: The remote RF functions use a high-capacity CR2032 3V button cell. The digital clock module is powered by an independent LR41/AG3 cell to ensure timekeeping persists during main battery swaps.
Water Resistance: IP65 Splash-proof. Designed for deck use; do not submerge for extended periods.
Support: If your remote buttons lose synchronization, do not attempt to reset the device. Please contact TillerBuddy Support directly.
Note to User: Always keep your original Master Remote in a safe, dry place on the vessel. It serves as your primary backup for all RF-controlled systems.
Contact & Support The Build-a-Buddy V1 is the "Boater's Choice" for a custom finish. If you run into any snags during your build, get in touch.
