1. Statement of Originality TillerBuddy™ is the world’s first wireless control system integrated directly into a canal boat tiller handle. This concept was conceived, engineered, and brought to market by Benjamin Donnaghue. We assert full ownership over the specific application of wireless RF/Bluetooth controls within the bore of a traditional wooden tiller.
2. Unregistered Design Rights (UK) Under the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988, TillerBuddy™ claims Unregistered Design Rights over the internal configuration, the specific assembly of the electronic housing, and the ergonomic placement of the controls. Any unauthorized reproduction of this configuration for commercial gain will be challenged.
3. Common Law Trademark The name TillerBuddy™ and the associated branding are currently protected under Common Law "Passing Off" regulations. We have established a clear and documented "First to Market" presence. Any attempt to register or use a confusingly similar name within the marine or inland waterways sector will be met with a formal objection based on our prior use.
4. Documented Evidence of Invention For the avoidance of doubt, the full technical disclosure, prototype dates (July 2025), and market launch (September 2025) have been digitally timestamped and archived. This documentation serves as legal proof of "Prior Art" and "Original Creation."
